Our Microsoft Exchange Email system is compatible with all current Web Browsers and Operating Systems. Users simply connect and sign in with their BCT Active Directory account, not their email address.

Mobile Email

Our systems are compatible with all current mobile phones including many iPhone and Android models. The set-up wizards change regularly as Apple, Samsung, Google, and other vendors modernize their systems to incorporate more user features. As a result there is no single installation process.

Set-up Overview

This general process should work for most phones.

1. Connect to WiFi or a stable cellular data network.
2. Open the Add a new account wizard in your Phone's settings.
3. Select Exchange as the type of account. This is not an Outlook.com or other cloud account.
4. Select Configure Manually if you are asked to "Sign into your Exchange account using Microsoft?"
5. Provide your email address and password.
6. Provide this additional information when prompted.

7. The wizard should verify your information once you provide this information. If necessary you can provide these alternate entries for the server exbct1.bct-llc.com (Annapolis Junction mailboxes) or exbct2.bct-llc.com (New Market mailboxes).
8. After it verifies your Exchange account information, you will be asked to confirm the installation. Apple iPhones will have to select Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes.
9. Android devices will provide similar options and additional Android warnings that Exchange account information is managed by the administrators of the Exchange servers and that they can delete this information. Accept this warning and allow the account to be installed.
10. When asked, do not delete or replace your existing Calendars or Contacts. The new Exchange Contacts and Calendars will be added as separate options.

Outlook and Outlook Anywhere Setup

On the Company Network

Microsoft Outlook is the email application within Microsoft Office. On the company network, your Exchange account will autoconfigure if you are using a domain workstation and are logged into the domain with the same Active Directory account that corresponds to your email. Just open Outlook and everything will set itself up for you.

Off the Company Network

If you are installing your Exchange account on a non-domain workstation, your account will still auto-configure using the Active Directory and DNS autodiscover service. Just follow these simple steps.

1. Close Outlook.
2. Open the Mail Control Panel. You can use an existing profile or add a new one if this is your first account.




3. Start the add an Exchange account wizard. Enter your "Display name" exactly in this format: Last, First M. since the wizard will search for your mailbox in active directory and these are stored by Display name. Enter your email address: first.last@bct-llc.com Enter your password.


4. The wizard will find your mailbox and attempt to log-in using your email address as a user name which will fail since we use a separate user name.


5. Select More Choices and then Use a different account. Enter your user name in the pop-up in the format: BCT-LLC\f.last and re-enter your password. check the option to remember your credentials.




6. The server will complete the set-up. If your system gives you pop-ups to confirm the set-up which you must accept them. If asked, accept the certificate for autodiscover.bct-llc.com.




7. If asked, allow exbct1.bct-llc.com to configure your account.
8. If asked, acknowledge that the new account will create a new Inbox and Calendar.
9. Open Outlook and re-enter your password. Check the box for Outlook to remember it.
